They are also extremely tough, right down to cryogenic temperatures to provide reliable service in a very broad service environment. These plates find particular application where there is continuous or cyclic heating in temperatures between 427 C to 899 C (800 F to 1650 F) than other chromium-nickel steels are prone to intergranular corrosion.
